SCHOOL DAZE

10th, 10th, 7th, 5th and 1st….here we come!

So thankful for for another homeschooling year together.  I find it a huge privilege to be able to read to, study with, and discuss together their books from various subjects.

So thankful for Martha Jones (and her family) moving here to help with my high schoolers.

Thankful that Julia is eager to begin the school adventure.
Thankful Jeff is teaching Ginny and Joshua Spanish this year

And the monkey is the class clown - right there in the middle of things

 Self-guided guitar lessons

Thankful for Jim who is tackling this group of jr high boys this year.  His science class is full of experiments, it’s active and outside and fun…. everything my science class isn’t.  I am so thankful this group can be together because everything is better when you can do it with your best buds.

INTRODUCING PERSIA

I love watching Ginny with her animals.  She is so full of tenderness and patience.  You can tell that they give her great joy.  August 4th Ginny’s goat, Cuzco had a kid.  Unfortunately, we were in Asuncion went she birthed but it took Ginny no time to bond once we got back.

Going to pick up her new kid...with a monkey, of course, on her back.

 She named the kid, Persia.

 Say, "cheese!"
checking each other out

Unfortunately, after a week of trying to get the mom to nurse her babe, we resorted to bottle feedings.

It truly takes a village (or a large family) to raise Ginny’s kid.

MONKEY BUSINESS

If you ever have a chance to own a monkey, do it.  Zoe is a blast!

She gets into everything and you can’t really stop her because she climbs

She loves fishing the tea bags out of your mug (of course when you aren’t looking)

She drinks the soapy dish water (poor Ginny having to change all those diapers)

She loves food with sugar (of course, she’s not allowed to have foods with sugar)

She loves terere times – jumping from person to person in the circle trying to get a hand in the guampa
She loves to ride on Ginny’s neck or on her leg

She loves to hitch a ride with the little ones

She loves to chew on Claire’s hair at night so Claire has to wear a sock hat to bed now

She is very social and does not like to be alone

She does not like to be told “No”
She does not like bath time
She does not like diaper changing time

Even though she knocks everything over and down, we find ourselves laughing at her shenanigans all the time.

Got milk?
