RYAN IS BACK!

August 26, 2016
Today we picked Ryan up from the airport!  10 weeks was a long time to be without him.  He had an incredible summer and we are so thankful to the Lord for arranging all the details.

In brief…..
He flew into Canada and spent a few days with one of his best friends.  The Stirling family served with us in Paraguay for many many years.

They drove Ryan six hours to Montana where he began his discipleship training.  He LOVED his time in Montana getting to meet new people, digging into God’s word, and playing lots of sports.

This is the entire summer programs group – music, dance, and sports.
This is Ryan’s sports group – three students and two leaders.
After 3 weeks in Montana the group traveled to Taiwan.  Ryan said that growing up on the mission field helped him to be culturally sensitive and flexible with daily plans. He had a great time in Taiwan.  He tried lots of new foods and made some new friends.

After 3 weeks in Taiwan and 1 week back in Montana for debriefing, Ryan flew to Texas where he stayed a couple nights with friends.  They packed in soccer, Bible study, hanging out at the ice cream shop and church.

The last half of that week was split between both sets of grandparents.  My family drove him to the airport on the 25th.

 Leaving the US.
His 10 week journey of a lifetime is over.

Reunited with Ryan.  A special lunch at TGIFridays.

other AUGUST FAMILY NEWS

Ginny stepped on a bone.  It went in deep and broke off into four pieces.  Ouch!  Chris, our newest team mate and a physician assistant dug around until all those pieces were out.

It’s warming up, thankfully! It’s nice to be outside again!

Josiah is potty trained!

Claire’s hair is finally long enough to out in pony tails.  Cute!

Look what our neighbor brought over – a bat that he shot!

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY, JULIA!

When I asked Julia what she wanted for her birthday she said she wanted to skpe with Ryan, which she got to do.

She also had lots of friends over for her doggie themed party.

Her birthday lunch meal request was chicken and rice.

Cake and candle time!
