FIELD TRIP
I have to admit, there
aren’t a lot of things to do in our small town, so when we were told about a
lady who had some unique animals at her house, we decided to pay her a
visit.
Besides having turkeys,
ducks, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, cows, parrots, and horses; she had an
armadillo pair, a capybara, and two monkeys.
Capybaras are the world’s
largest rodent and found natively in South America. They remind me of the ROUS (Rodents of
Unusual Size) from The Princess Bride.
When asked in Guarani to smile, Monica the monkey would do it.
Of course my kids now want
a monkey as their next pet.
We did have another reason
for paying a visit to this family – to buy a goat for Ginny (to replace the one
that was stolen a couple months ago).
This is the one she chose.
