CHIPA!

On another field trip, I took team mates to my friend, Na Maxi’s house to make chipa.  Chipa is a Paraguayan traditional bread made with starch, eggs, Paraguayan cheese, milk and anis.  It has a crunchy crust and a soft middle.  It tastes best fresh from the oven or tatakua.

All the ingredients are mixed together until it resembles the consistency of playdough.

The dough is shaped into…well, any form you want…..but chipa is traditionally shaped into a circle.
And then they go into the oven.

And you sit and drink terere.
