DECEMBER in PICTURES (part 1)

Makayla wearing her cute little red dress that a friend of mine crocheted.

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY, GINNY!
December 13, 2017

Ginny’s birthday menu:
Breakfast: Crepes (by Micah)
Lunch: Homemade napolitana empanadas with Dr. Pepper that Ryan brought from the US
Dessert: Chocolate peppermint cheesecake
Dinner: Homemade sushi
Her gift was some horse tack and a promise of a horse to come.

I think the kids are glad to have Ryan back in the chore rotation.

Ryan, glad to be reunited with his cat, Boots.
Have I mentioned how hot Paraguayan summers are?
This picture was at 7:00 at night.  It is still super hot inside the house and out!
In this heat, we all just feel like laying around.

When Ryan first arrived he made the mistake of playing rough and tumble with Josiah.  Josiah loved it but the monkey did not.  Zoe has become quite protective of the little ones and will even bit people if she thinks they are hurting them.  For those first couple of days, Ryan was on Zoe’s bad list and she would pursue Ryan and try to bit him.  Usually Zoe will harbor a grudge for a loooooong time, so we were surprised when she began sneaking into the boys’ room in the middle of the night and cuddling with Ryan.  Ryan became one of Zoe’s perferred people.  Can’t say that the feeling was mutual though.

Homemade ice cream is a part of our summer memories.
A little homemade ice cream on the face always felt cool on a hot day.

Another part of our summer memories is watermelon. Yum!

I absolutely LOVE having all my chicks under one roof!
