A few days in NEW YORK (state #9)

September 10-12, 2014

Day #12-13

Our first stop in NY was Niagara Falls.  It was beautiful but, I’ll be honest, we are super soiled to have seen Iguazu Falls in Brazil and in Argentina many times.

Our next stop in NY was to the Finger Lakes area where our dear teammates who are also on furlough live while back in the U.S.  It was wonderful to see them.

I cannot tell you how happy these kids were to be together again…someone familiar!

Hiking – one of our teammate’s favorite activates when back in the U.S.
Playing by the lake.  Skipping stones.

 Playing at the park.

Eating at their favorite pizza place. Pizza and wings.  YUM!

Onto CEDARVILLE, OHIO (state #7)

September 7-10, 2014

Day #9-10

Each year Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio sends us 6 fabulous students for our T.I.M.E internship.  It was a fun pizza reunion with all the past T.I.M.E interns still in the general area.

The students found Guarani for us to drink!
And the girls made pastel de guayaba.
This is Julia with Dalia (the T.I.M.E intern) and Dalia (Julia's doll).

Here we are with students representing three different past T.I.M.E groups and two of the Cedarville faculty that help us prepare the students for the trip.

Daniel, a T.I.M.E alumni’s family lives in Cedarville so we were able to have dinner with and meet his family.
Andy, a T.I.M.E. alumni, drove 3 hours from his med school to visit with us!  We sure love our T.I.M.E interns and love to hear how God is continuing to work in their lives.

While we were in Cedarville Ryan got to experience his first college tour.  He spent the night in the dorm 2 nights with two different T.I.M.E alumni guys.  He went to an anatomy class and an Old Testament class.  He (and Jeff) went to chapel and we all ate in the cafeteria.  He (and Jeff) had an official Cedarville informational meeting and an informal campus tour.

One evening Jeff spoke to the pre-med organization.  He did a great job.

A long road to INDIANA (state #6)

September 4-6, 2014

Day #6-8

It was a long day.  We started off early from Kansas.  By mid-day we were hungry and ready to stretch our legs.  We found ourselves in St Louis, MO and decided to stop and see the Gateway Arch.

Ginny has become quite the photographer and has done a great job of documenting our adventures on this trip.

 Pretty impressive.
Some views from the top

I was surprised that Josiah wasn't at all afraid to look waaaaaay down.

The elevator getting up and down was pretty cool.  here we all are trying to jam ourselves into the pod.

One the road again.  We pressed on through Illinois and into Westfield, Indiana, arriving at our friend’s house at 10PM.

WESTFIELD, INDIANA

We had a great couple days with John (an ACU college friend and Jeff’s roommate during his first year of medical school in Lubbock) and his family.
A beautiful day for a day at the park playing, throwing the frisbee, splashing in the water and a picnic.

sharing about our ministry at their home group.

One evening we went into Indianapolis and had dinner with the Richardson family (plus two other couples).  Luke (the one in the neon shirt) was our recent T.I.M.E student.  What a blessing to meet his parents and brothers and their friends.
One afternoon we met Leti, our Paraguayan friend, for lunch in Veedersburg, IN (half way between her home in Champlain and where we were staying).  We missed seeing her husband who was away on business.
