June 13-15
Friday we went to our team mates’ house 1 ½ hours down the
road in Yuty. They had fun getting to
know the Reiches, eating a fabulous lunch of grilled goat, hearing Christie’s
thoughts on animism in Paraguay and listening to their boys play traditional
Paraguayan music on the harp and guitar.
Then we headed down the road a
couple more hours to a great German hotel, Tirol, for the weekend. We ate fantastic meals (I don’t think the
interns missed mandioca), slept in heated rooms, and played games, laughed till
we cried, debriefed about the trip, talked about cultural differences and
visited the Jesuit ruins.
