RYAN'S SUMMER PLANS

Another really exciting thing happing this summer, is Ryan preparing to go on his first mission trip.  He had asked several months ago about the possibility of traveling to another country do a sports focused ministry.  After researching several possibilities, Ryan saw an opportunity through Youth With a Mission in Montana that he knew was for him.  He applied and was relieved to be accepted.  He sent out his first support letter (https://us3.admin.mailchimp.com/campaigns/show?id=1288257)
and has been amazed how quickly God has provided.

He will be gone a total of 9 weeks.  He leaves June 20th for Calgary, Canada to first visit one of his best missionary kid friends.  A couple days later, that family will drive him to Montana where he will begin 4 weeks of spiritual discipleship and training in the morning and physical training (soccer and basketball) in the afternoons.  He will live dorm style- have a roommate or two, wash his own clothes, eat in a mess hall, etc.  Then he will travel to Taiwan for three weeks to help with sports camps and pick-up ball games and faith sharing.   Then it’s back to the Montana base for debriefing and then Ryan flies to Texas for a week of seeing friends and grandparents.

I have always prayed that my kids would (1) hear God’s voice, (2) would obey God’s voice and (3) have a mission perspective.  So here Ryan is at 16 years of age doing all that.  I know I will miss him like crazy (we all will) and I bet he, too, will miss us, but I am so excited for him and all he will learn and experience.  Please, if you think of it, keep him in your prayers.

Ryan has really enjoyed playing for Club 22 here in our town.
