THIS WEEK

August 10, 2012

After 5 weeks off, we began homeschooling again this week.  Man, it is tough to get back into the swing of things.

Here’s what else went on this week:

Our quincho came down!  It took 7 guys 8 hours to disassemble it.  The process was amazing to watch (and not to mention a bit distracting to our schooling).

We asked two friends from other towns to being working on our new house.  They stayed with us Monday night and headed to Jataity Tuesday.

Wednesday Karen, our newest SIM team mates came for a visit.  She is a teacher and gave our kids and art and music (on the recorder) lesson.  We went to pick mandioca while she was here.

Thursday we had team mates who were passing through for lunch and mobile clinic in Jataity.

We made several trips to Jataity to inspect the work (which is looking GREAT).

The kids love playing in the giant sand pile that the men are using to make cement.  Let me tell you, I will not be sad when the sand is all used up!

Laying the bricks for the quincho (our dining room).

These guys are doing a great job!
