ELIANE
In March, Eliane, a nurse from Switzerland, arrived in Paraguay for a 5 month short term mission. Her first month was in Asuncion studying Spanish and practicing it with a native family. Her second and third months were with us in San Francisco. She has just completed her fourth month in Yuty and is on her way to Asuncion where she will be working with an AIDS clinic.
Eliane was our first experience with a medical intern, outside of last year’s TIME interns. While in San Francisco, she lived with 3 different Paraguayan families and did amazingly well with both Spanish and Guarani. She worked alongside the nurses at the health clinic and saw patients with Jeff at the house. She participated in church/ministry events and went with us on two mobile clinics.
It has been a blessing to get to know her and help her eat her supply of Swiss chocolate bars!
